We are looking for a Site Manager for our friendly village school to manage our school site and ensure all Health and Safety is correct and up to date. We have extensive grounds and these need to be kept clean and tidy and ready for use by the children at all times.

As the Site Manager you will be supervising work across the school with both external and internal contractors. You will have Key holder responsibility and will need to be prepared to attend out of hour’s emergency call outs. Previous experience in site work in a school setting is preferable and a valid MIDAS certificate would be an advantage.

Your main duties will be to:

• Supervise the cleaning staff and undertake some cleaning duties

• Have key holder responsibility and be the first point of contact for all emergency call outs and be responsible for site security

• Communicate effectively with the facilities team to ensure projects are completed on time

• Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are checked regularly to ensure they are operational

• Carry out general maintenance and DIY

• Be responsible for Health and Safety, undertaking all Risk Assessments and maintaining clear, accurate records

• Arrange and supervise contractors on site

• Undertake checks and maintain records to meet statutory Health and Safety requirements e.g. COSHH, legionella, fire safety etc

• Help ensure that premises are looked after and kept clean and safe

• Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager

• Monitor stock and ordering supplies

• Maintaining and driving the school mini bus on a daily basis

• Reporting to the governors on occasional meetings

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

• To be a good communicator

• To be IT literate in order to maintain accurate records

• To have initiative and be able to work unsupervised

• Be competent in general maintenance and be able to undertake a range of minor repairs, maintenance and decorating across the school

• Have a keen eye for detail

• To be willing to undertake any courses required to fulfill your role ad comply with H&S

• Have previous knowledge of schools Health and Safety or be willing to attend courses to learn this

• Be flexible and be committed to your role and the school

• Hours of Work: 25 hours a week, 52 weeks per year. The role includes shift work, approximately 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon
